Thoughts what kind of edcuation we want

Today in CR, we had an an interesting session, we talked about what kind of learning we were getting and were we happy with it.

Some of the comments showed the inherent concern that many of the members had with the process of assessment (much of which I have but also expect to have). The idea of valuing experience and experiential learning is a scary one when you “feel” that you experience are not as valued as others. This can be becuase our starting positions in live are just not the same, that we react and experience things differently or plainly that you feel that some people can express themselves is a way that pleases the assessor more.

Although I don’t doubt that the facilitators will be fair that must be a concern for everyone that is assessed in a non-formal setting, this can only be compounded. How do we get away from this constant need to assessments and even more the resilience of assessments to make us feel safe in our learning?
